Prof. Jian-Shiuh Chen, Technical Committee member of ISIC

Professor, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan

Dr. Chen is the Distinguished Professor of Civil Engineering at the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU).

Dr. Chen has more than 20 years of work experience on asphalt materials and construction, and helps establish specifications on these areas for the highway departments in Taiwan. In addition, he has nine-year international teaching and research experiences, including working for the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) as an assistant professor in Thailand, and for the Federal Highway Administration as a research fellow in the USA. Dr. Chen has been the PI and Co-PI of more than 100 projects funded by public and private agencies including Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan Freeway Bureau, and Directorate General of Highways. He obtains his B.S. degree from NCKU, M.S. from Georgia Institute of Technology, and Ph.D. from the Pennsylvanian State University. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Virginia.
