Description
This webinar summarizes the contents of the ISIC book series No. 1, “Introduction to Intelligent Construction Technology (ICT) for Transportation Infrastructure.” The topics will include basic ICT concepts, Artificial Intelligence, ICT framework, machine learning, perception technology, Big Data, intelligent design/construction/maintenance, and virtual construction. In the end, the essential characteristics of the above technologies will be summarized as “Perception, Analysis, Decision-making, and Execution.” Several case studies will be demonstrated to implementing the four characteristics of ICT. The speakers will deliver the webinar in Chinese with interpretation in English. This webinar is to kick off a series of lectures on the ISIC book series. These will also lead to future ISIC workshops to provide in-depth training on these topics.
Registration
The registration fee is USD $99 for non-ISIC members. It is free for ISIC members. Not a member yet, join ISIC for free! We will provide certificates of 0.2 PDH to participants.

Speakers’ Bio
Prof. Guanghui Xu, Vice President of ISIC; Southwest Jiaotong University, China

Prof. G. Xu has engaged in the research and teaching of road and railway engineering dynamics theory, testing and information analysis technology, and artificial intelligence applications. He is a co-founder of ISIC. Prof. Xu has always adhered to the principle of equal emphasis on theory and application research and practical results. He has organized and led a multidisciplinary scientific research team and carried out long-term independent research and development on intelligent construction monitoring technology. Prof. Xu also formed a series of research results with intellectual property rights. In 2011 and 2017, he presided over the compilation of China’s first industry construction standards and product standards for intelligent compaction (IC) technology. He also published an IC monograph in Science Press and China Railway Press and led the writing for the Chinese versions of the ISIC ICT book series.
Prof. Gongsheng Wang, Steering Committee Member of ISIC; Harbin Institute of Technology, China

Prof. D. Wang’s research areas are pavement mechanics, structural design theory, pavement materials, constitutive modeling, intelligent transportation information sensing, and intelligent construction. He has participated in the compilation of many industry standards and co-authored the Chinese versions of the ISIC ICT book series. He was selected into HIT’s top-notch teaching talents program and has received HIT’s gold-medal teaching award and the first prize of teaching excellence. Prof. Wang has also developed and conducted HIT’s elite graduate course “Pavement Mechanics and Analysis Methods” and an online open course “Pavement Engineering.” Prof. Wang is presiding over the construction of digital resources for the “Road Engineering Course Group Digital Resource Library-Subgrade and Pavement Engineering” for the People’s Communications Publishing House.
Dr. George K. Chang, PE, President of ISIC; Transtec Group, USA

Dr. George Chang is a world expert on pavement smoothness and intelligent compaction/construction technologies. Dr. Chang has founded the International Society for Intelligent Construction – ISIC (www.IS-IC.org). His research, teaching, specification development, and software tools have helped make significant technological advancements in the above fields. The websites he develops and maintains, Profile Viewing and Analysis – ProVAL (www.RoadProfile.com) and Intelligent Construction Technologies (www.IntelligentConstruction.com) have evolved into the one-stop-shop for pavement smoothness and intelligent compaction/construction. Dr. Chang has been leading the ICT implementation efforts in the US, China, and Australia in the past 15 years. Dr. Chang is also leading the writing for the English versions of the ICT book series.
